Macrophages treated with amphotericin B (the-104a) showed a decrease in protein expression of PKCζ (Mukherjee et al., 2010); in pancreatic cancer cells, treatment with ATM, which is a molecule in the same chemical class as auranofin (the-105), disrupted the binding of either PKCι or PKCζ to Par-6 (Butler et al., 2015). The gene discussed is PARD6A; the disease is familial pancreatic carcinoma.
