The first was focused in EB simplex with mutant KRT5, targeting exon 1 of wild type and mutant KRT5 alleles (Aushev et al., 2017); the second concerned epidermolytic ichthyosis (EI), using a TALEN nuclease, designed to target a region of KRT10, upstream of a PTC known to induce a genetic knockout (March et al., 2019). This evidence concerns the gene KRT5 and autosomal dominant epidermolytic ichthyosis.
