The tumor suppressor gene NF2 encodes a 69 kDa protein called Merlin, which involves in the canonical Merlin/NF2-Mst1/2-Lats1/2-YAP/TAZ axis, initiating the Hippo signaling by directly activating Mst1/2, or by recruiting Lats1/2 to membrane for phosphorylation by Mst1/2 [refs. 10–12]. This evidence concerns the gene NF2 and neoplasm.
