The authors ultimately identified two ALKBH5 inhibitors, including 2-[(1-hydroxy-2-oxo-2-phenylethyl)sulfanyl]acetic acid (Fig. 5a, Inhibitor A; IC50 = 0.84 μM) and 4-[(furan-2-yl)methyl]amino-1,2-diazinane-3,6-dione (Fig. 5a, Inhibitor B; IC50 = 1.79 μM), which were tested for activity in leukemia and GBM cell lines [162]. This evidence concerns the gene ALKBH5 and glioblastoma.
