Some studies have shown that miR-541-3p might act as a suppressor gene in hepatocellular carcinoma, non-small cell lung cancer and prostate cancer since miR-541-3p could target transmembrane protease serines 4 (TMPRSS4), transforming growth factor-β-induced factor 2 (TGIF2) and heat shock protein 27 (HSP27), respectively [32,33,34]. Here, TMPRSS4 is linked to hepatocellular carcinoma.
