Low BMI (-5.6 kg, 95%CI: -7.4, -3.8), moderate anaemia (-3.9 kg, 95%CI: -5.8, -2.0), and low CD4 (-2.9 kg, 95%CI: -5.4, -0.4) were associated with lower grip strength in HIV-infected, while only moderate anaemia was associated with lower grip strength (-5.1 kg, 95%CI: -10.2, -0.1) in HIV-uninfected individuals, but tests of interaction were not significant (p>0.10). Here, CD4 is linked to anemia (phenotype).
