The meta-analysis conducted by Ford et al. did not find serotonin-1A (5-HT1A) receptor agonists to be effective in the treatment of FD [77], but a Japanese randomized, controlled trial with sample size of 150 subjects found that the 5-HT1A agonist tandospirone citrate was effective in the treatment of FD (Table 2) [78].
