Matsubara and co-workers [82] recently found that PrPC and mGlu1 interacted with each other in the transfected neuroblastoma (Neuro-2a) cell line and in the mouse cerebellum as assayed by co-immunoprecipitation and fluorescence resonance energy transfer, confirming previous reports in which PrPC interacted with both mGlu1 and 5 receptors in heterologous cells and/or in the mouse brain [83,84,85]. The gene discussed is GRM1; the disease is neuroblastoma.
