Researchers observed significantly increased levels of circulating IL-10 in 30/30 patients with DM with DN (mean 140 pg/mL ± 102) compared with DM patients without DN, in which IL-10 was detectable in only 11/30 patients (0.79 pg/mL ± 1.24), and a group of healthy subjects, in which IL-10 was detectable only in 3/30 donors (0.92 pg/mL ± 0.17). Here, IL10 is linked to diabetes mellitus.
