EDN1 and ischemic stroke: The aim of this 3-year follow up prospective study was to evaluate suPAR levels in patients with a first-ever ischemic stroke in correlation with established inflammatory markers—C-reactive protein (CRP), procalcitonin (PCT), n-terminal pro c-type natriuretic peptide (NT-proCNP) and markers of endothelial damage (endothelin 1-21, NT-proCNP)—and to investigate if elevated levels of suPAR are associated with the degree of disability and death in patients with ischemic stroke, assessed on a modified Rankin Scale (mRS).
