In a landmark study, Thorsson et al. defined six pan-cancer immunotypes (C1-C6) by integrating more than 10,000 samples from 33 tumor types [40], of which STS included mainly C1 (wound healing), C2 (IFN-γ dominant), C3 (inflammatory), C4 (lymphocyte depleted) and C6 (TGF-β dominant). This evidence concerns the gene IFNG and telomere syndrome.
