The highest bias-adjusted effect sizes (hazard ratios) on PFS were observed for the count of CD163+ TAMs per core (HR = 3.0; 95% CI: 1.7–5.1; p < 0.001) and the number of communicating CD163+ TAMs (HR = 3.0; 95% CI: 1.8—4.9; p < 0.001), followed by the number of CD163+ TAMs adjacent to cancer cells (HR = 2.7; 95% CI: 1.7–4.3; p < 0.001). Here, CD163 is linked to cancer.
