This group presented with the overexpression of well-recognized cancer driver genes, such as TERT (log2fold change = 1.5, adjusted p-value = 0.028), KIT (log2fold change = 2.1, adjusted p-value = 5.0 × 10−5), or the oncogene POM121 (log2fold change = 0.67, adjusted p-value = 0.011), which has recently been linked to poor prognosis in human oral MM [15] (Figure 1C). The gene discussed is TERT; the disease is cancer.
