Several hypotheses suggest that nigellimine, an alkaloid present in NS seeds, can block the entry of SARS-CoV 2 through an inhibitory activity on ACE2 and it has also been reported that co-administration of hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) with black cumin seeds reduced the toxicity and potentiated the antiviral action of HCQ against COVID-19 [63]. This evidence concerns the gene ACE2 and COVID-19.
