However, looking at many clinical trials, now ongoing with use of different gal-3 antagonists for various clinical conditions, such as chronic inflammation and fibrosis in the lungs or the kidney, osteoarthritis, atopic dermatitis, melanoma, and others, emphasize outstanding multidirectional role of gal-3 level in plenty of biological processes and promising use of its inhibitors in the perspective of future therapies for numerous diseases, including psoriasis [13,16]. This evidence concerns the gene LGALS3 and melanoma.
