SAB knockdown mice, after 40 to 52 weeks of HFHC diet, showed a decreased steatohepatitis and fibrosis and restored SAB and P-JNK levels, with respect to those found in mice fed by standard diet, demonstrating the crucial role of P-JNK-mitoSAB-ROS loop in NASH [129]. The gene discussed is MAPK8; the disease is metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis.
