NGF and IGF-1, key neurotropic factors known to contribute to nerve fiber growth and activation, were analyzed by sandwich-ELISA, and we found that mice with induced endometriosis treated with GSK2126458 or CX5461 exhibited much lower concentrations of NGF and IGF-1 in the peritoneal cavity compared to vehicle-treated mice (Figure 4a; p values for NGF, GSK2126458: 0.0162, CX5461: 0.0489, naïve: 0.0061; p values for IGF-1, GSK2126458: 0.0228, CX5461: 0.0136, naïve: 0.0161). This evidence concerns the gene IGF1 and endometriosis.
