When LC and HCC patients were subdivided into different groups by stage, the positive rates of the autoantibody response to GNAS were 19.7%, 19.7%, 37%, 53.2%, 62.4%, and 51.5% in NCs and patients with CHB, CC, DC, early HCC, and late HCC, respectively, showing a close association of the autoantibody with the progression of chronic liver disease to HCC. This evidence concerns the gene GNAS and hepatocellular carcinoma.
