Our data would support the fact that iNKT cells play an important role in a disease that involves abnormal lipid metabolism or lipid-related inflammation, as is the case of NAFLD, and to a much lesser extent in DILI, in which other cell types of the classical adaptive response would preferentially participate, such as CD8 and CD4 T cells. Here, CD4 is linked to metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease.
