As shown in Figure 2, the percentage of NKG2D+iNKT cells was increased in NAFLD patients with significant liver fibrosis (F ≥ 2) (70.6 ± 7.7) as compared to DILI patients (50.9 ± 12.1, p = 0.016) and healthy controls (44.6 ± 4.2, p = 0.001). This evidence concerns the gene KLRK1 and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease.
