This data suggests that CCN1 expression is correlated with tumour aggressiveness, which confirms a previous study that performed a semi-quantitative IHC analysis of gliomas and normal brain samples correlating CCN1 with tumour grade: In 88% of the WHO grade IV samples studied, CCN1 was overexpressed, and expression was positively correlated with the expression of c-Met, a receptor tyrosine kinase involved in proliferation, migration and invasion. The gene discussed is MET; the disease is central nervous system cancer.
