The notion of oncogenic property of Nrf2 is further supported by the correlation of higher Nrf2 gene expression and poorer survival of cancer patients with lung cancer, gastric cancer, breast cancer, kidney papillary cancer, and likely pancreatic adenocarcinoma and hepatocellular carcinoma, although the latter two have a moderate statistics value due to the relatively small sample size (Figure 2B). Here, NFE2L2 is linked to lung cancer.
