Our analysis identified Achaete-Scute family BHLH transcription factor 1 (ASCL1; z-score −2.121, overlap p = 6.27 × 10−4) as the master regulator predicted to be inhibited and thereby causing inhibition of ovarian cancer by six different paths involving transcription regulators such as thyroid hormone receptor beta (THRB), forkhead box protein M1 (FOXM1), POU class 2 homeobox 1 (POUF2), and neuropeptide Y (NYP) in each of the different pathway (Figure 8 and Supplementary Table S7). The gene discussed is THRB; the disease is ovarian cancer.
