In the T2DM group, we noted changes characteristic to type 2 diabetes such as significant increase in basal plasma glucose (p ≤ 0.01; Figure 1B), triglycerides (p ≤ 0.01; Table 1), insulin resistance (HOMA-IR index) (p ≤ 0.01; Figure 1D), decreased insulin concentration (p ≤ 0.01; Figure 1C) and glucose-dependent insulin-releasing polypeptide (GIP) drop (p ≤ 0.05; Table 2).
