A total of 45 independent SNPs located in or near genes, such as STXBP6, BBX, PLXDC2, PCDH15, TPH2, PCDH15, CALN1, FGF14, LRRN1, ACTBP2, RBMXP1, and ZNF32, were previously reported to be associated with several obesity-related phenotypes and anthropometrics (Locke et al., 2015; Buniello et al., 2019). The gene discussed is ACTBP2; the disease is obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
