Recent reports have shown that combination of anti-GD2 with PD-1 blockade resulted in synergistic anticancer effects on GD2-expressing tumors in mice, which were attributable to upregulation of immune checkpoint molecules, PD-1/PD-L1, in neuroblastoma by anti-GD2 (45), and induction of immunogenic cell death (submitted manuscript). The gene discussed is CD274; the disease is neuroblastoma.
