It was revealed that SRR, PDE4B, and NFKB1 variants were involved in interactions with known T2DM-associated genes, including AK3, DISC1, ADK, ASPH, SDS, RELB, HDAC1, REL, and EP300. The dysregulation and functional abnormality of these differential genes have been investigated in T2DM development (43–45). This evidence concerns the gene AK3 and type 2 diabetes mellitus.
