circ-CBLB, circ-ITPR3, and circ-ICAM1 may serve as GDM-related miRNA sponges and regulate the expression of CBLB, ITPR3, NFKBIA, and ICAM1 in cellular immune pathways, inducing vascular inflammation, immune activation, β cell apoptosis, and other related pathophysiological processes, finally promoting the occurrence and development of GDM (Figure 4). The gene discussed is ITPR3; the disease is gestational diabetes.
