Consistent with the results with Huh7 cells (Fig. 2B), pseudotyped viruses with Y756 mutant spike exhibited extremely low infectivity (about 3- to 4-fold compared with that of the WT), similar to the R815A mutant, while R685A mutation resulted in higher infection mediated by spike protein than for WT or D614G S (Fig. 2D and E). This evidence concerns the gene CHMP5 and infection.
