The qPCR results demonstrated that the expression of the pro-apoptotic genes Caspase8, Bax (Bcl-2-associated X protein), and Apaf1 (Apoptotic Peptidase Activating Factor 1) was significantly increased after neomycin treatment compared to that of the control group, and the expression of the anti-apoptotic gene Bcl-2 (B Cell Leukemia/Lymphoma 2) was significantly decreased compared to that in the control group (Fig. 4E). Here, APAF1 is linked to lymphoma.
