CXCL8 and endometriosis: Although a recent study showed that ectopic ESCs were more sensitive to erastin-induced ferroptosis than normal ESCs, suggesting that erastin may be a novel therapy for endometriosis [10], we show here that higher concentrations of erastin could trigger both eutopic and ectopic ESC ferroptosis and also subsequently induce the secretion of cytokines, such as VEGFA and IL8 (Supplemental Fig. 2A–C).
