Using qRT-PCR and western blot assays, the results showed that knockdown markedly increased epithelial markers (E-cadherin and ZO-1) but decreased mesenchymal markers (N-cadherin and vimentin) in BGC-823 and SGC-7901 cells (Fig. 3C, D), suggesting that knockdown of EDDM3A suppressed epithelial–mesenchymal transition (EMT) in GC cells.
