The cytoprotective activity of several non-electrophilic Nrf2 activators has been demonstrated in mouse models of ulcerative colitis (Lu et al., 2016), renal inflammation (Lu et al., 2019b), acute hepatotoxicity (Lu et al., 2019a), lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced cardiomyopathy (Jiang et al., 2018), and myocarditis (Meng et al., 2018). This evidence concerns the gene NFE2L2 and cardiomyopathy.
