The mRNA levels of POMC and CART in the experimental group were visibly higher than those in the control and blank group (P < 0.05), which was similar to the results of Guo et al. [17]; POMC and CART were the main secretions of POMC neurons; they could exert a suppression effect in the body, which indicated that patients with sepsis and cardiac insufficiency could activate hypothalamic suppressor neurons, leading to reduced food intake and difficulty in maintaining energy metabolism balance. This evidence concerns the gene CARTPT and heart failure.
