ACAT1 and prostate neoplasm: This rationale is supported by the fact that ACAT1 mRNA expression is higher in clinical prostate tumor tissue compared to normal (Fig. 3a), ACAT1 protein levels are increased in metastatic CRPC tissue compared to benign prostate tissue (Fig. 3b), and ACAT1 mRNA expression is significantly associated with progression-free and overall survival rate (Fig. 3c and d).
