Six upegulated genes [cholinergic receptor nicotinic beta 4 subunit (Chrnb4), Srebf1, Fasn, acetyl-CoA acetyltransferase 2 (Acat2), collagen type VIII alpha 1 chain (Col8a1), and lanosterol synthase (Lss)] and one downregulated gene [cytochrome B5 type a (Cyb5a)] were common between Tmem135FUN025/FUN025 eyecups and intermediate AMD (Table 2 and Fig. 7A). This evidence concerns the gene ACAT2 and age-related macular degeneration.
