Some genetic factors, such as pleckstrin homology-like domain family B member 1, telomerase reverse transcriptase, glutathione S-transferase P1, coiled-coil domain-containing 26, regulator of telomerase elongation helicase 1 and epidermal growth factor receptor genes, were confirmed to be related to glioma in genetic studies, including GWAS.[19–23] However, the molecular mechanism underlying the occurrence and development of gliomas remains unclear, and to our knowledge, the VEGFR2 rs2305948 polymorphism has not been included in any GWAS or meta-analysis of glioma. This evidence concerns the gene PHLDB1 and glioma.
