Non-linearity was apparent for several outcomes: prostate cancer and related mortality (reverse J-shaped and J-shaped respectively), dementia risk (J-shaped; although age of onset better characterized by monotonically increasing relationship), mental health (U/J-shaped for depression; increased risk for abstainers for disability pension due to MHD), and certain lipids (LDL-C; reverse J-shaped, sdLDL-C and apoB; monotonically decreasing, and HDL-2C; inverted reverse J-shaped). Here, APOB is linked to depressive disorder.
