Increasing evidence suggests that the metabotropic glutamate receptor 2/3 (mGluR2/3) is related to psychiatric disorders, and that drugs targeting mGluR2/3 provide promising treatment effects and fewer side effects for SCZ patients (Conn et al., 2009; Mezler et al., 2010; Moghaddam & Adams, 1998). This evidence concerns the gene GRM2 and psychiatric disorder.
