Exclusion of breast cancer cases was attenuated but did not nullify the association with ‘cancer (suspected or other)’ (OR = 1.36; 95% CI, 1.10–1.67; p=0.004) suggesting that SAMHD1 mutations may also increase risk of other cancers, as has been shown for colon cancer (Rentoft, 2019). The gene discussed is SAMHD1; the disease is colonic neoplasm.
