AAV vectors are known to have a long expression interval, at least in myocytic cells.[8] To test whether this feature is capable pacifying a chronic inflammatory state such as atherosclerosis long‐term, we used a murine model of atherosclerosis, namely apoE−/− mice fed with a high‐fat diet, which are characterized by aortic plaque formation (Figure 5A).
