Obesity, age ≥65 years, obstructive sleep apnoea syndrome with altered sleep maintenance, complicated hypertension, dyslipidaemia, cardiovascular comorbidities (excluding hypertension), CRP ≥1 mg/L and anhedonic subtype of MD were significantly associated with higher likelihood of having type 2 diabetes in hypertensive individuals. This evidence concerns the gene CRP and type 2 diabetes mellitus.
