In the analysis of 564 patients with Fib-4 index ≥3.25 which suggested advanced fibrosis [8], 45 patients developed HCC, and male sex (HR: 2.986), EOT-AFP ≥5.3 ng/mL (HR: 8.352), and EOT-Alb <3.9 g/dL (HR: 2.803) were associated with the development of HCC (Table 3). This evidence concerns the gene ALB and hepatocellular carcinoma.
