To assess the role of CLEC4A2 in hyperlipidemic conditions, we generated ApoE−/− and ApoE−/−Clec4a2−/− littermate mice and fed them a chow diet or a HFD for 12 weeks to allow for the development of atherosclerosis (Fig. 4a; Supplementary Fig. 7a). This evidence concerns the gene APOE and atherosclerosis.
