ZMYM2 was first characterised as a protein responsible for the induction of 8p11 myeloproliferative syndrome (EMS)/stem cell leukaemia-lymphoma (SCLL) by chromosomal translocation to FGFR146,47, resulting in rapid transformation to acute myeloid leukaemia (AML) and T-lymphoblastic lymphoma46,47. Here, ZMYM2 is linked to acute myeloid leukemia.
