CTLA4 and cancer: Recently, immune checkpoint blockade (ICB), which enhances T-cell activity by inhibiting immunosuppressive checkpoint molecules such as cytotoxic T-lymphocyte-associated antigen 4 (CTLA-4), programmed cell death 1 (PD-1), and programmed cell death protein ligand 1 (PD-L1), has produced durable responses in some cancer patients.
