Honda et al. reported that the CD163/CD68 macrophage ratio (≤0.70) demonstrated high sensitivity (81.4%) and specificity (84.0%), and, furthermore, the combination of the CD163/CD68 macrophage ratio (≤0.70) and CD209+ dendritic cell density (≥13/0.1 mm2) demonstrated much higher specificity (100%) for cardiac sarcoidosis [22]. This evidence concerns the gene CD163 and cardiac sarcoidosis.
