Given the evidence that PNC is a marker of carcinoma invasion, fibronectin is an inducer of cell motility, and PNC is localized to cellular protrusions on pathological myofibroblasts, we hypothesized that the disruption of the potential cell surface FN1/PNC interaction may prevent the migration of pathogenic PNC expressing myofibroblasts [15,25].
