Although we have measured urinary concentrations of several markers of tubular injury, i.e., NGAL monomer, cystatin C and cell cycle arrest biomarkers: TIMP-2 and IGFBP-7, we only found weak significant correlation between serum transgelin and urine cystatin C. Moreover, serum transgelin correlated positively with serum concentrations of FLC lambda (the type of FLC more often associated with renal injury in MM). This evidence concerns the gene LCN2 and Miyoshi myopathy.
