In a multicenter case–control study genotyping 10 rare variants in PALB2, CHEK2, and ATM, strong evidence of an association with breast cancer risk was observed for ATM c.7271T>G at an OR of 11.0 (95%CI, 1.42–85.7; p = 0.0012) [88]. The gene discussed is ATM; the disease is breast carcinoma.
