As for the p38β isoform, it has been shown that peptide inhibitors for this isoform are able to induce toxicity in pancreatic cancer cell lines such as PANC-1, which could be a potential therapeutic implication [85], but, unfortunately, we have found no other inhibitor assays that specifically target this or other p38 isoforms apart from p38α, since, due to their sequence homology, the vast majority of p38α inhibitors also inhibit p38β. This evidence concerns the gene MAPK11 and familial pancreatic carcinoma.
